AUSTIN, TX – Two road workers were struck and killed friday afternoon while installing road signs on an I-35 service road, according to KXAN.
The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. when the driver of a 2015 Porsche lost control and skidded into the grassy area near Onion Creek Parkway and hit the workers.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Porsche was extricated and taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe speed was a factor in the fatal collision. It is unclear if any charges will be filed against the driver at this time.
