SPICEWOOD, TX – Three people died, and four were hospitalized Sunday after two vehicles collided head-on along the highway in south Burnet County, reports KXAN.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 26th on State Highway 71 near East Trail Road, which is east of Double Horn Creek.

The investigation indicates that a westbound 2020 Ford F-350 veered into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound 2013 Hyundai.

All three occupants in the Hyundai died in the collision.

Medics transported the four occupants from the Ford to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
