AUSTIN, TX – A head-on collision along a South Austin highway killed one person at the scene and injured two others, reports Fox 7 Austin.

The incident happened at 12:16 a.m. on the westbound side of Ben White Boulevard between Menchaca Road and South First Street. This is near St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the accident, nor have they released the identity of the victim.

Medics transported two people to St. David’s with injuries. They are expected to recover.

Officials encouraged motorists to avoid the area while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
