AUSTIN, TX – A collision involving two vehicles along a state highway in East Austin killed one person and injured two others early Friday morning.

According to Fox 7 Austin, the incident happened around 1:20 a.m. just east of Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park and south of Manor Expressway on the northbound side of SH-130.

It’s still unclear how the accident happened, but police say that one of the vehicles fell down an embankment and that the force of the collision threw two people from their vehicle. Medics transported these two patients to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person who died in the crash.
