AUSTIN, TX – Three people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle crash in North Austin Monday morning.
CBS Austin reports three vehicles were involved in the wreck in the southbound lanes of the 6200 block of N. I-35 at about 4:30 a.m. Police and rescue crews responded to the scene and found one person who was unconscious and pinned in a vehicle. That victim was extricated and taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with injuries described as critical and life-threatening.
Two other people suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital.
The crash investigation prompted the closure of the I-35 southbound lanes between U.S. 183 and U.S. 290 for several hours. Motorists had to detour via Exits 240 and 241.
