HUTTO, TX – Two people went to the hospital on Friday after a multi-vehicle collision along the highway in Hutto, reports KXAN.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. in the area of 11000 US-79, which is just northwest of Hutto Memorial Stadium.

The cause and circumstances of the crash area still under investigation. Police say that the accident involved four vehicles and that two people sustained serious injuries.

Officials encouraged motorists to avoid the area while crews worked to clear the scene.
