AUSTIN, TX – Police are still actively searching for the driver responsible for the July crash that killed a male pedestrian in South Austin, reports KXAN.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 30th, around 1 a.m. on West William Cannon Drive, just south of Armadillo Neighborhood Park.
Police are searching for a white four-door pickup truck in connection to the crash. They say the vehicle struck and killed 43-year-old Dustin A. Hughes before fleeing the scene. The driver did not stop to render aid and answer questions.
Authorities say that a large black toolbox was spotted in the back of the truck and that the vehicle may have sustained damage to its front end during the wreck. Additionally, amber lights may be visible on the side mirrors of the truck.
Anyone with information or tips to report regarding this accident can contact the Austin Police Department. Authorities are offering a reward for any leads that end in an arrest.
