AUSTIN, TX – One person sustained fatal injuries Monday evening when a vehicle struck them along a busy roadway in southeast Austin, reports CBS Austin.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Montopolis Drive and Crumley Lane, which is west of Highway 183 and south of Colorado River Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
Police have not yet indicated if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident happened, nor do we know if the driver stopped to render aid and speak with officials.
Authorities have not disclosed the name of the victim, who they say died at the scene.
Drivers likely experienced significant delays along Montopolis while crews responded to the scene.
