AUSTIN, TX – An adult female died Wednesday night after a vehicle struck her along a busy roadway in South Austin before fleeing the scene, reports KXAN.
The incident happened around 9:25 p.m. on East Oltorf Street, near the intersection with the southbound frontage road for I-35. This is just northeast of William B. Travis High School.
Police are calling this a hit-and-run collision. They have not released any information about the driver, but say the suspect’s vehicle is dark in color.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials attempted CPR but ultimately pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene of the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
