KYLE, TX – A man was struck and killed on his bicycle in Hays County Sunday night reports KXAN.

26-year-old Bret Steinmann was riding his bike on the I-35 southbound access road near Martinez Loop around 10 p.m. He was struck by a driver who then fled the scene.

Steinmann was rushed to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital where he died of his injuries.

A witness followed the suspect until it stopped and called authorities. Elizabeth Jenell Mitchell, 35 walked back to the crash scene and admitted to the crime. She was arrested and taken to Hay County Jail.
