AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian went to the hospital with critical injuries Thursday after a vehicle struck them at a busy north Austin intersection, reports CBS Austin.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of West Howard Lane and South Heatherwilde Boulevard, which is in the Wildflower area, just south of Pflugerville.
Upon reporting to the scene, medics found the pedestrian unresponsive. Emergency teams worked to resuscitate the patient, at which point they were taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with serious injuries.
It’s unclear at this time if the pedestrian was struck in a designated crosswalk. Police also have not specified if the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
