TAYLOR, TX – A 66-year-old man died Monday morning after a vehicle struck him about 35 miles northeast of Austin in the city of Taylor.
According to Fox 7 Austin, the accident happened around 6:11 a.m. in the 3700 block of North Main Street, which is just southeast of Taylor Regional Park and Sports Complex.
Police say the victim, identified as Gary Krause, was crossing North Main Street when a 2014 Dodge hit him. Krause died at the scene of the crash. It is unclear if Krause was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident occurred.
The 19-year-old driver of the Dodge stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.
A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
