GEORGETOWN, TX – A collision involving two 18-wheelers sent one driver to the hospital and disrupted traffic in Georgetown Thursday morning, according to KXAN.
The trucks crashed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Highway 29. The incident was reported by the Texas Department of Transportation at 1:48 a.m.
Rescue crews extricated one of the drivers, who was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. The other driver was not hurt. Police said the crash caused one of the 18-wheelers to spill a load of soft drinks it was carrying onto the roadway.
Lanes were shut down on I-35 north while the area was being cleared, and traffic was being detoured to exit 261 until 9 a.m.
