AUSTIN, TX –  A collision on the MoPac Expressway claimed the life of one person and left another injured early Monday.

According to KXAN, the crash happened at about 5:46 p.m. in the 2600 block of the expressway near the exit to Northwood Road.

One unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear at this time. However, traffic delays were reported in the area for several hours afterward while crews worked to clear the scene.
