AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries Tuesday when a vehicle struck them along the highway in northwest Austin, reports CBS Austin.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. on the northbound side of TX-183 near Pond Springs Road, which is in the Los Indios neighborhood.

Medics resuscitated an adult patient at the scene of the accident and then a second time on the way to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. 

Police haven’t yet specified whether the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene to render aid and answer questions.

Officials closed roads in the area of the collision while medical teams performed CPR on the victim, and crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
