AUSTIN, TX – Police investigate a major accident that happened along the interstate in south Austin on Friday afternoon, reports Total Traffic Austin.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the southbound side of I-35 at East William Cannon Drive, which is west of Williamson Creek and the Williamson Creek Greenbelt.
There’s no word yet on injuries or the number of vehicles involved in the accident.
Officials say the collision blocked the left two lanes of traffic while crews worked quickly to clean-up the scene. All lanes re-opened by around 2:40 p.m.
