AUSTIN, TX – Emergency crews reported one fatality on Thursday after a major collision along Texas 360 in southwest Austin, reports KXAN.

The incident happened around 1:05 p.m. on the southbound side of the Capital of Texas Highway near Stoneridge Road, which is just east of Sculpture Falls.

It’s not yet clear how many vehicles were involved in the accident, nor have authorities revealed the cause of the collision.

Police say that one person became pinned in the wreckage and required extrication. That person died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.

Medics transported three other people to the hospital as trauma alerts.

The investigation is ongoing.
