AUSTIN, TX – A cyclist died last Thursday from injuries sustained when an alleged DWI driver struck him three weeks prior in South Austin, reports KVUE.
The accident happened on Friday, September 20th, at 8:30 p.m. on East Stassney Lane between Burleson Road and Nuckols Crossing Road.
APD hasn’t shared many details regarding the circumstances of the accident. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was treated for his injuries up until his death.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the victim.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Abel Martinez, was recently arrested for DWI in connection to the crash.
