AUSTIN, TX – A cyclist died Wednesday in a collision involving a passenger vehicle along a major roadway in South Austin, reports KXAN.
The accident happened just after midnight on South Congress Avenue between Red Bird Lane and Stassney Lane, which is west of I-35 and near the Williamson Creek Greenbelt.
Police haven’t yet determined the cause of the crash, nor have they released the name of the victim. Additionally, it’s unclear if the vehicle involved in the accident stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.
Officials closed roads in the area of the accident while emergency teams attended to the victim(s) and worked to clear the scene.
