GEORGETOWN, TX – Georgetown police and emergency crews were at the scene of a deadly crash on Interstate 35 Wednesday morning.
CBS Austin reports a woman was driving a Nissan on I-35 south of Williams Drive when the accident occurred sometime before 10:15 a.m. The car veered off the highway and crashed into a guardrail, and the driver was trapped in the vehicle. The victim, identified as 63-year-old Julie Inman of Georgetown, was pronounced dead at the scene.
All southbound lanes of I-35 were shut down while the crash scene was being cleared and processed.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fatal wreck.
