AUSTIN, TX – A speeding driver was involved in a deadly single-vehicle accident in southeast Austin early Wednesday, police said.
According to KXAN, the crash happened on McKinney Falls Parkway near Burleson Lane shortly after midnight. Investigators said a woman drove off the road while going at a high rate of speed and slammed into a concrete pole.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was declared dead at the scene. No one else was in the car.
Austin-Travis County EMS advised motorists of traffic closures that would be in effect for the crash investigation.
