AUSTIN, TX – Emergency crews reported to the scene of a serious solo accident in east-central Austin on Thursday night, ATCEMS reports.

The incident happened at 7:37 p.m. in the area of 1504 East 51st Street, just east of I-35 and west of Bartholomew District Park. 

Police say that one person sustained life-threatening injuries when their vehicle collided with a pole. Medics performed CPR at the scene, but the outcome is unclear. 

Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The investigation is ongoing.
