AUSTIN, TX — Four people were seriously injured Thursday evening following a collision involving three vehicles near the Texas State Capitol, CBS Austin reports.
Austin police, fire crews, and EMS personnel responded to the accident at the intersection of East 15th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard.
Police say a Jeep and a sedan collided at the intersection. The force of the initial impact sent the Jeep crashing into the front of a nearby CapMetro bus.
Four occupants in the Jeep were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two occupants in the sedan, along with the bus driver, refused transport.
Authorities said the Jeep driver was administered a sobriety test and passed, but was cited for other undisclosed reasons. An investigation remains underway.
