GEORGETOWN, TX – Emergency teams responded to a major accident along the interstate on the north side of Georgetown Wednesday, reports CBS Austin.

The collision occurred around 6:14 a.m. on the southbound side of I-35 just past Lakeway Drive, which is just east of Georgetown Executive Airport.

Police haven’t yet released details regarding injuries or fatalities, the cause of the accident, or the number of vehicles involved. 

Officials closed all southbound lanes of I-35, including the shoulders, while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the wreckage.

All lanes re-opened by around 8 a.m. 

The investigation is ongoing.
