LEANDER, TX – Two people went to the hospital Friday afternoon after a major accident in a northwest suburb of Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 1:12 p.m. on FM 1431 between Nameless Road and Travisso Parkway in Leander.
Police say that two vehicles collided head-on, pinning one of the two people involved in the crash.
Medics worked to extricate the patient, at which point both people were taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center as trauma alerts.
Officials encouraged motorists to avoid this area of FM 1431 while crews worked to rescue the victims and clear the scene.
There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the collision, but a full investigation is underway.
