KILLEEN, TX – A hit-and-run driver struck and seriously injured a pedestrian early Wednesday in Killeen, reports KCEN TV 6.
The accident happened around 1:29 a.m. on East Stagecoach Road near Chantz Drive. This is just south of Liberty Hill Middle School.
Police say the victim was walking their dog on the sidewalk along Stagecoach when a vehicle swerved onto the sidewalk and struck the pedestrian and the dog.
The dog sustained fatal injuries in the crash, and the pedestrian went to the hospital with critical injuries.
The driver involved in the accident did not stop to render aid. Police are looking for a dark-colored sedan with damage to its front end.
