AUSTIN, TX – A vehicle struck and fatally injured a pedestrian Tuesday morning along a busy roadway in south Austin, reports KVUE.
The accident happened just before 1:30 a.m. in the area of 1000 William Cannon Road, which is between Emerald Forest Drive and Cooper Lane.
It’s unclear if the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway at the time of the crash and if he was using a designated crosswalk.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where died not long after.
The driver involved in the accident fled the scene. Police are still actively seeking a description of the suspect and their vehicle.
A full investigation is underway.
