LEANDER, TX – A three-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck caused multiple injuries last Thursday in Leander, reports CBS Austin.
The accident happened around 1:24 p.m. at the intersection of US-183 and Sonny Drive, which is south of Leander High School and north of Hill Country Feed & Supply.
Police say that a southbound 18-wheeler carrying scaffolding crashed head-on with two northbound passenger vehicles that were stopped in the turn lane at the intersection.
It’s not yet clear how many people were injured in the wreck, nor do we know what caused the truck to enter the northbound lane of traffic. Officials say that one person sustained critical injuries.
Police closed US-183 on both sides in the area of the cash while crews worked to rescue the victims and clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
