AUSTIN, TX – South Austin police have arrested and charged an individual they believe is responsible for the death of a pedestrian on South Lamar Boulevard Sunday night.
According to KXAN, 57-year-old Rene Conde attempted to run a red light within the 3900 block of South Lamar when he lost control of his 2016 Toyota Corolla while traveling at a high rate of speed.

The unidentified victim was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
The suspect admitted to being under the influence of a synthetic marijuana substance. He is currently being charged with first-degree intoxicated manslaughter.
