AUSTIN, TX — A man died late Sunday night after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 35 near the Lakes at Techridge area in north Austin, according to CBS Austin.

Police responded to the fatal incident on the southbound lanes of I-35 near Owen-Tech Boulevard at approximately 11:25 p.m.

An investigation found that the man was trying to cross the highway at an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by multiple cars.

Medics and police arrived to find the victim deceased at the scene.

The drivers involved remained behind and cooperated with authorities. No charges or citations have been reported at this time.

All southbound lanes were shut down for about two hours after the accident.
