AUSTIN, TX – First responders came to the aid of a driver who crashed his truck into a bus stop in Austin early Friday morning, according to KVUE.
Police said the accident happened in the area of South Congress Avenue and Barton Springs Road near an Embassy Suites Downtown hotel.
The vehicle struck the bus stop at about 2 a.m. and caught fire, according to investigators. The driver managed to escape the vehicle on his own, and was transported to a hospital to be treated for burns. No other injuries were reported.
It was believed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident, police said.
