AUSTIN, TX – A man sustained fatal injuries Monday afternoon in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Zilker Park, reports KVUE.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the area of Azie Morton Road, which runs from Barton Springs Road to Barton Hills Drive.

Police say the driver involved in the crash failed to stop and render aid. At this time, they do not have a description of the driver or the vehicle.

The pedestrian died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities haven’t yet released his name to the public.

A full investigation is underway.
