SPICEWOOD, TX – A male pedestrian died on Christmas night after a vehicle struck him along a highway in Spicewood and fled the scene.

According to KXAN, the incident happened around 11:51 p.m. on the westbound side of Highway 71 near Paleface Ranch Road, which is just west of Austin Golf Club.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity to the public.

Police are looking for the driver of a 1994 to 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Anyone with tips or information to share can contact either the Texas Department of Public Safety or the Austin Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
