TAYLOR, TX – A collision in Williamson County Monday night claimed the life of a 38-year-old motorcycle rider, reports KXAN.
The accident happened in the area of West 2nd Street and FM 3349 in Taylor at about 9 p.m. Police said the motorcyclist, identified as Jacob Shelp of Elgin, was riding east on West 2nd Street when he crashed into a U-Haul truck that came into the intersection.
Shelp was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, which was the first fatal crash in Taylor in 2021.
