AUSTIN, TX – A 34-year-old motorcyclist died after evading police and crashing into another vehicle on the frontage road of I-35 on Tuesday morning, CBS Austin reports.
Police say the collision happened around 2:10 a.m. when a Honda Rebel motorcycle crashed into a Hyundai Elantra at the intersection of the northbound I-35 frontage road and Rundberg Lane.
The motorcyclist, identified as Bobby Knight Jr., died after transport to Dell Seton.
The occupants of the Hyundai sustained injuries in the accident and were taken to a local hospital.
Authorities say that prior to the accident, Knight fled police when a trooper attempted to stop him near the intersection of the Highway 290 service road and Cameron Road. The reasons for the attempted stop are unclear at this time.
