AUSTIN, TX – Emergency crews responded to a deadly multi-vehicle accident in North Austin early Sunday morning.
Austin-Travis County EMS tweeted that it responded to the scene in the 9900 block of North Interstate 35 near Rundberg Lane at 2:11 a.m. Three vehicles were reported to have been involved in a collision, leaving one person pinned inside one of the vehicles.
The person was extricated, but despite life-saving measures by medics at the scene, the patient was pronounced dead.
Two other people were taken to St. David’s Medical Center with injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening, while a fourth injured person declined transport.
A secondary collision occurred as a result of the initial incident, EMS officials said.
