AUSTIN, TX – Emergency teams responded to a crash Sunday involving an alleged drunk driver and two Austin police officers in north Austin.
According to KXAN, the accident occurred around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Research Boulevard and Burnet Road. This is just east of Pins and Wheels at Playland.
Police say that a vehicle struck two APD cruisers that were parked near a disabled vehicle along Research Boulevard.
Both officers sustained minor injuries. It’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
Authorities arrested the driver that caused the wreck, identified as 27-year-old Mason A. Mumford, on DWI charges.
A full investigation is underway.
