TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — One person was injured Thursday morning after a tanker truck carrying propane overturned in Lakeway, according to KVUE.
The multi-vehicle accident happened in the 1600 block of Flint Rock Road at around 8:18 a.m.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office said three other cars were involved in the crash.
No significant injuries were initially reported, but Austin-Travis County EMS later updated to say one adult victim was being taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lake Travis firefighters said a valve on the propane tanker had been damaged in the crash, which began a slow leak. People within a half-mile from the accident were forced to evacuate as crews worked to safely remove the truck.
By 5:00 p.m. the evacuation orders had been lifted.
Flint Rock Road was projected to remain closed until about 7:00 p.m. until the leftover oil and debris were cleared from the roadway.
