AUSTIN, TX — One person was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a wreck on Mopac Expressway near north Austin’s Highland Park West area, according to KXAN.
Austin-Travis County EMS crews responded to the scene in the 4700 block of the southbound expressway shortly after noon.

Few details have been reported, but crews had to perform a rescue extrication for one adult pinned and trapped in their vehicle.
Medics declared the victim a trauma alert upon their removal from the wreck and transported them to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious, life-threatening injuries.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
