AUSTIN, TX — A 64-year-old man died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in south Austin’s South Congress neighborhood, according to CBS Austin.
The incident occurred in the 5900 block of South Congress Avenue at the Little Texas intersection shortly before 8:00 p.m.
Details are limited, but authorities said the driver was heading southbound on the road when they hit the male pedestrian.
Austin-Travis County EMS said crews located the victim add began CPR, but he was later pronounced at the scene.
The driver stayed after the crash and cooperated with responding officers.
According to Austin Police Department, the driver said they were unable to see the victim in the street because the intersection was not well-lit.
No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning, but an investigation remains underway.
