AUSTIN, TX — A man was killed Wednesday morning after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Interstate 35 in central Austin, according to CBS Austin.
The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of I-35 near the highway split at Wilshire Boulevard at around 5:07 a.m. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck. Austin Police Department confirmed the victim died at the scene.
Authorities shut down all northbound lanes on the highway’s lower deck as an investigation was conducted. By 7:40 a.m., all lanes were reopened to normal traffic. No further information has been released at this time.
