AUSTIN, TX – Traffic on I-35 in south Austin was halted this morning after a pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles early Thursday.

According to KTSA, the victim was hit in the northbound lanes of the interstate near Ben White Boulevard at about 2 a.m.

The pedestrian, whose identity is unclear at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene. Major traffic delays were reported in the area while crews worked to clear the scene.

All lanes were reopened by 8 a.m.
