AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on a busy roadway in southwest Austin late Saturday.

According to a report by KXAN, the incident occurred on SH-71 at the US-290 interchange at about 10:30 p.m.

The pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld at this time, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. We do not know at this time why the victim was walking on the highway at the time of the crash.
