AUSTIN, TX — One person was fatally hit by a vehicle late Saturday night on North Interstate 35 in north Austin’s Park Center area, reports CBS Austin.

The incident occurred in the 12400 block of the northbound interstate shortly before midnight.

Authorities said the victim was pronounced deceased shortly after emergency crews arrived on the scene.

The causing driver appeared to have fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

No further information has been released on a possible suspect or the circumstances behind the event.
