AUSTIN, TX – Police in Austin have released new details regarding the death of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle last month.
CBS Austin reports the victim of the June 29 incident has been identified as 40-year-old Miguel Guerrero-Garcia. The crash occurred on East Ben White Boulevard near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at about 11 a.m.
Investigators determined that a Jeep Wrangler and a box truck collided as both vehicles were merging into the center lane.
The impact sent the Jeep into the outside lane, where it struck Guerrero-Garcia. At the time, he was picking up bags of mulch that had fallen from his trailer onto the roadway. Guerrero-Garcia was declared dead at the scene.
