AUSTIN, TX – Austin-Travis County EMS reported that it was at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in south Austin on Thursday morning.

A person was struck by a vehicle in the 13300 block of the Interstate 35 south frontage road near Slaughter Lane shortly before noon. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The person’s identity has not yet been released.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area, as extensive traffic delays were expected.
