AUSTIN, TX – A crash in North Austin Tuesday night left one person dead and caused road closures in the area, KVUE reports.
The incident began when two vehicles got into a collision on the Interstate 35 northbound frontage road near Braker Lane sometime before 8:45 p.m. One person got out of one of the vehicles, was struck by a third vehicle, and suffered fatal injuries. Police said the driver of the third vehicle remained at the scene.
The accident shut down the northbound frontage road lanes of I-35 from Bowery Trail to Yager Lane in North Austin. Officials implemented a detour down Bowery Trail and Natures Bend, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
