AUSTIN, TX – Four people went to the hospital early Friday morning after fleeing police and crashing their vehicle at the Travis County Jail, reports KVUE.
The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on the property of the Travis County Jail, which is located at 500 West 10th Street.
The investigation indicates that a vehicle with four occupants initially fled from police in the area of Interstate 35 and 11th Street. Officers pursued the vehicle until the driver lost control and crashed into an air conditioning unit on the property of the jail and courthouse.
The four occupants of the vehicle sustained non-critical injuries, for which they went to the hospital.
Authorities have not yet indicated why they were chasing the vehicle, nor have they announced charges.
The investigation continues.
