NAVASOTA CO., TX – Two people died Wednesday, including a police officer, in a wrong-way crash along the highway in southwest grimes County.
According to Fox 44 News, the accident happened sometime before 6:30 p.m. at Highway 6 and FM-3090 in the city of Navasota. This is about two hours east of Austin.
Officials say that a driver fled police in College Station, leading them southeast to Navasota. The suspect entered the northbound side of Highway 6 while travelling southbound and collided head-on with a Navasota Police officer’s vehicle.
Both the suspect and the officer sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed their identities, nor have they commented on the reason for the pursuit.
