AUSTIN, TX – A 70-year-old woman died the day after a hit-and-run incident that happened last Wednesday at an intersection in South Austin, reports KXAN.
The incident happened at the intersection of Way Lane and South Bay Lane, just north of SH-45 and west of South Mopac Expressway.
Police say the victim, identified as Sandra K. Neilsen, was crossing the street on foot when a dark-colored sedan struck her before fleeing north on South Bay Lane.
Medics transported Neilsen to a local hospital, where she died the next day from injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities have released photos of the vehicle. While they do not have a description of the driver, they say the sedan has a decal sticker on the right rear, solid center caps on the wheels, and white rear tail lights.
